I started teaching at East Woods School in August of 1996. I am a
Kent State University graduate earning my Bachelor's degree in Music in
May of 1996 and my Master's degree in Music in December of 1998.
My two main instruments are voice and and piano. I grew up in Stow,
Ohio graduating from Stow-Munroe Falls High School in 1992. In January
1995, I became the Director of Music at my church. In my free time,
I enjoy practicing music and creating new arrangements of compositions
using my computer and synthesizer. Outside of music, I like to surf
the Web to look up information on a variety of topics, such as the newest
car models. During the summers, I enjoy taking workshops to learn
new things. Whenever I have a few days off, I like to vacation in
the hills of North Carolina -- Boone, North Carolina to be exact.
My family is from that area and it's a great place to relax and get away.
I have two older sisters and they have families of there own.

Music class is scheduled for each student during two 40-minute periods per week. These classes provide study of musical concepts, development of the singing voice, application of music concepts on classroom instruments, and aesthetic awareness of music. We perform a Holiday Sing Along concert in December. All fourth grade students perform a choir concert at Hudson High School Auditorium. Each fourth grader will be in either the Main Street Choir, Hudson Street Choir, or Tower Avenue Choir. For those students seeking additional experience in music, New Generation Singers is available. A schedule of concerts dates is available. |
| Held form mid-January to the end of the school year, New Generation Singers is a select vocal performing ensemble. Interested students must complete an application and do a voice audition. Up to 25 female and 25 male students are selected for this choral group. Rehearsals are held during the school day; females members one day, male members one day, and both female and male members for a large group rehearsal. New Generation Singers perform for several community and school events throughout Hudson, Ohio. A schedule of concerts dates is available, however, additional dates will be added. Students not selected for New Generation Singers are encouraged to try out for East Woods Singers in fifth grade. East Woods Singers is a fifth grade performing ensemble of 60-80 voice that rehearses weekly during two forty-minute periods. Students audition to become members. |
